Module 12

What is there for to rejoice if you have the intellectual property on something? Would it be a great instrument to the economic growth of the country? Or you are just the sole beneficiary of the fruits you have reaped from what you have sowed? Explain.

It feels good if you have the intellectual property on something, this is because your effort for what you discover or developed will be acknowledge and that every time this development or discovery is used you will earn a percentage of what it will earn.  This is also relaxing that you have helped in the economic growth of your country. Even if you are just sole beneficiary of the fruits you have reaped from what you have sowed still you have done great and that you contributed something for the common good. It is good to see that people are enjoying your discovery or development and that this helps them in many ways especially in living their lives conveniently.

Module 11-2

Is it ethical to blog both awful and pleasant experiences with your ex-girlfriend / ex-boyfriend? Discuss.

Blogging both awful and pleasant experiences with your ex-girlfriend / ex-boyfriend is not ethical yet sometimes educational. It is not ethical because one must learn to experience privacy and you do not have to tell the world what happened between you and your exs. People will only make fun of your post regarding your exs, this would only degrade your dignity, and the tendency is people will just mock at you thinking that you are like that, and like this. We must learn to choose what to post online and what not to. This is for our own good and to help other people not to commit mistakes in commenting what you have posted online.
I said earlier that is sometimes educational because there are people who want to post both awful and pleasant experiences with their exs just to serve as an example that people must learn. They want to tell the world that “what I have done was wrong; don’t follow what I did because it will make your life miserable.”

Module 11-1

Facebook’s marketing director, who happens to be Mark Zuckerberg’s sister, proposed last year that banning online anonymity would help curtail cyber-bullying and Internet harassment. Then-Google CEO Eric Schmidt made a similar observation in year 2010, noting that “privacy is incredibly important” but “not the same thing as anonymity.” If banning is already imposed or will be imposed would this stop annoying comments against someone freely posted by an anonymous FB user? Is this ethical? Is this against the freedom of speech? Support your answer.

For me, banning anonymity would somehow but not totally stop annoying comments against some freely posted against someone by anonymous FB user. This is because there are still FB users who weren’t afraid of saying anything in the facebook having their names exposed. The concern of this issue is the self-discipline of every facebook user, one should be responsible enough for every comment that they made on the said site. It is in the inner self of the user to develop from within the respect that the people need and deserved. After all, this banning is not against the freedom of speech but against those people who have abused their freedom in speech. After all, this is ethical, since what is important is that one must learn to respect other people so that they cannot blame other people for not respecting them.

Module 10

Is social justice evident in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Corona? Discuss.

Chief justices is responsible in promoting social justice but as what we can hear, read and see these people are the ones who are taking it away from the people. In the case of impeachment of Chief justice Corona, I can say that it is an evident of social justice. Evident in the since that he was responsible for everything that he did. Not declaring his properties and liability assets shows that he is hiding something that is illegal, since one should be proud for what he earned and what he got from working only if these things are achieved honestly. So, impeachment of Corona will help people to experience their rights as a citizen of the Philippines. And in that way he will suffer the consequences of his work. Since that money should go to those people who are in need yet he takes it away from them and enjoys living a luxurious life while these people are suffering.
It only shows that “Richer becomes richer and poor becomes poorer”.
